1. Who operates Inner Sky

This English version is the official version of this Privacy Policy.

2. Information we collect

The information we process depends on how you use Inner Sky.

Account information

When you create or use an Inner Sky account, we may process:

• your email address;
• your Inner Sky account identifier;
• your preferred or display name;
• your unique Inner Sky username;
• your optional profile photo/avatar, if you choose to add one;
• your language and locale;
• authentication and account status information.

Authentication is provided through Supabase.

Your password is handled through the authentication service and is not stored in Inner Sky's normal application database.

Birth and astrology information

To calculate and personalize your natal chart, Inner Sky may process:

• birth date;
• birth time, where provided;
• birth place;
• country;
• geographic coordinates associated with your birth place;
• timezone;
• whether your birth time is unknown.

From this information, Inner Sky may derive astrology information such as:

• planetary placements;
• houses;
• angles;
• aspects;
• natal-chart signals;
• other astrological calculations.

Your birth location is historical birth-location information. Inner Sky does not use it as continuous GPS tracking.

Personalization information

You may also provide or generate information such as:

• interests;
• life-focus selections;
• language preferences;
• saved or carried reading content;
• journey or feature progress;
• Returning Theme history;
• notification preferences.

Generated readings

Inner Sky may store personalized generated content associated with your account, including:

• Character readings;
• Today readings;
• Friendship readings;
• Love readings;
• complement analyses;
• relationship-comparison analyses.

Lumen conversations

If you use Lumen, Inner Sky may process and store:

• messages you send;
• responses generated by Lumen;
• conversation metadata;
• moderation and safety-related results;
• technical usage information associated with the conversation.

Lumen accepts free-form text.

You control what you choose to submit.

Please do not use Lumen to submit passwords, payment credentials, government identification numbers, confidential medical records, or other highly sensitive information unless it is genuinely necessary.

Lumen Memory

Lumen Memory is a separate, optional feature from Lumen conversations above.

What is stored: a short summary sentence you have approved, its category, and which already-carried item it came from.

Why: so a small number of things you have chosen to remember can make a future Today reading feel more relevant.

Saving a memory always requires your explicit action: Inner Sky does not create, infer, or store a Lumen Memory entry without you reviewing and confirming the wording first. You may edit that wording before saving.

Lumen Memory does not store your raw Lumen conversation transcripts, and does not use embeddings or vector search — a saved memory is plain summary text only.

You can remove an individual saved memory, or clear all saved memories, at any time from the Lumen Memory screen.

At most 3 active memory summaries may be used at a time, only to help generate a Today reading — never a Lumen conversation reply. Only the summary text itself is used for this, with no identifiers, categories, or timestamps included. If Lumen Memory is temporarily unavailable, Today reading generation continues without it.

Lumen Memory content is not included in analytics events (see Analytics information below).

Usernames and Connections

Inner Sky allows users to create a unique username.

Your username is separate from your preferred name.

A username alone does not automatically make your account searchable.

Discoverability through username search is controlled separately through the "Appear in user search" setting.

If you enable discoverability, other Inner Sky users may be able to find your account using your exact username.

Whether your profile photo is shown to people who find you through search is controlled separately through the "Show photo in search" setting.

Connections may process:

• usernames;
• preferred/display names;
• connection requests;
• accepted or disconnected connection status;
• blocks;
• Friendship comparison consent;
• Love comparison consent;
• shared relationship analyses.

Raw birth details are not displayed to connected users.

Subscription information

If you use Inner Sky Pro, Inner Sky processes information needed to determine your subscription and entitlement status.

Purchases may be handled through:

• Apple App Store;
• Google Play;
• RevenueCat.

Inner Sky does not receive your complete payment-card information from those services.

Notification and device information

Where required for notifications, Inner Sky may process:

• an app-generated installation identifier;
• push notification token;
• platform;
• timezone;
• notification preferences.

New Inner Sky accounts currently initialize the following preferences as enabled:

• Morning Reading;
• Evening Reflection;
• Sky Changes.

These preferences are separate from Android or iOS notification permission.

You may decline the operating-system notification permission and continue using Inner Sky.

Morning and Evening notification preferences are stored locally on the device and scoped to the authenticated Inner Sky account.

Sky Changes uses the app's push-token infrastructure.

Remote Connection notifications may contain another user's preferred/display name.

Analytics information

If you separately opt in to product analytics in More → Privacy & sharing, Inner Sky may process:

• a pseudonymous analytics identifier derived from your Inner Sky account identifier (your Supabase Auth user ID) — analytics is pseudonymous, not anonymous;
• your subscription tier (free, Pro, or unknown) at the time of an event;
• product-usage events, such as: the app being opened; screens being viewed; onboarding being completed, where consent permits; Carry actions; a share attempt being started; a successful Lumen reply or a Lumen daily-limit notice; Connections-flow actions; and paywall or purchase-funnel steps;
• technical device and app metadata automatically attached by the analytics service, such as operating system, OS version, device type/model, app version and build, locale, timezone, screen dimensions, and SDK metadata.

Product analytics is off by default and only begins after you explicitly opt in. You can disable it again at any time in More → Privacy & sharing; disabling stops further analytics events from being sent.

Analytics events do not include your name, email address, birth date, birth time, birth location, natal placements, chart interpretation content, Lumen conversation text, Lumen Memory content, reflections, Carry content, Connection handles, or relationship interpretation content.

Website contact form

If you contact Inner Sky through the contact form on this website, we process the name, email address, and message you submit, solely to respond to your request.

Your contact-form submission is relayed by email and is not stored in an Inner Sky website database.

3. How we use information

We may use personal data to:

• create and secure your account;
• authenticate you;
• calculate your natal chart;
• personalize astrology content;
• generate Character and Today readings;
• provide Lumen;
• provide Friendship and Love functionality;
• enable Connections;
• make your account discoverable when you choose to enable discoverability;
• remember preferences and saved content;
• deliver notifications you have enabled;
• manage Inner Sky Pro entitlement status;
• enhance Today readings using Lumen Memory content you have explicitly approved for that purpose;
• understand product usage through optional pseudonymous product analytics;
• prevent fraud, abuse, spam, and misuse;
• apply rate limits;
• maintain and secure the service;
• respond to support, privacy, and account requests;
• comply with applicable legal obligations.

Inner Sky does not currently use your personal data for third-party targeted advertising.

4. AI and data minimization

Inner Sky uses artificial intelligence for selected product features.

The system is designed to minimize the amount of personal information sent to AI providers.

For current astrology-generation features such as Character, Today, complement analyses, and relationship comparisons, Inner Sky is designed to send derived astrological evidence rather than your raw:

• email address;
• Inner Sky account identifier;
• exact birth date;
• exact birth time;
• exact birth place;
• latitude or longitude.

For relationship comparisons, astrological evidence relating to both participants may be processed, but the AI workflow is designed to use anonymized participant references rather than real names.

Lumen is different because it is a conversational service.

Text that you voluntarily submit to Lumen must be processed by the AI service to generate and moderate responses.

5. OpenAI

Inner Sky currently uses OpenAI API services for:

• AI-generated interpretations;
• Lumen responses;
• Lumen safety and moderation.

Where supported by the relevant generative API request, Inner Sky configures requests with storage disabled for persistent API response objects.

OpenAI's current business/API policies state that API inputs and outputs are not used to train OpenAI models by default unless the API customer explicitly opts in.

OpenAI may nevertheless process or temporarily retain limited data for service operation, security, abuse prevention, or legal compliance under its own current policies and applicable contractual arrangements.

Inner Sky does not claim that all OpenAI processing is subject to zero retention.

6. Natal chart calculation

Inner Sky currently uses Prokerala for natal-chart calculation.

For this purpose, the integration sends information required to calculate the chart, such as:

• date and time;
• geographic coordinates.

The current Inner Sky implementation does not intentionally send Prokerala:

• your email address;
• your preferred name;
• your Inner Sky username;
• your Inner Sky/Supabase account identifier.

The resulting natal chart may be stored by Inner Sky so that it does not need to be recalculated unnecessarily.

7. Service providers

Inner Sky uses service providers to operate the service.

Supabase

Supabase provides services including:

• authentication;
• database infrastructure;
• server-side functions;
• supporting backend infrastructure.

OpenAI

OpenAI provides:

• AI generation;
• Lumen generation;
• moderation and safety processing.

RevenueCat

RevenueCat provides subscription and entitlement infrastructure.

Inner Sky currently uses the authenticated Inner Sky/Supabase user identifier as the RevenueCat App User ID.

RevenueCat receives this pseudonymous, stable identifier; your account email address, associated with that identifier for support and account-management purposes; and the purchase and subscription information needed to operate your subscription.

RevenueCat does not receive your preferred name or phone number, and does not receive any birth details, natal chart, astrology content, Character Analysis, Friendship or Love analysis, Lumen content, interests, life focus, or connection data.

PostHog

Where you have separately opted in, PostHog provides optional pseudonymous product analytics, hosted in the EU ("PostHog Cloud EU").

Analytics is off by default, requires your explicit opt-in, and can be disabled again at any time in More → Privacy & sharing.

Inner Sky configures PostHog with session replay disabled, broad automatic event capture disabled, screen/view recording disabled, and IP-based geolocation ("GeoIP") disabled.

See "Information we collect" above for exactly what analytics events do and do not include.

Prokerala

Prokerala provides natal-chart calculation services.

Resend

Resend provides transactional email delivery for messages submitted through the Inner Sky website contact form.

Expo, Google, and Apple push infrastructure

Remote notifications may be delivered using services including:

• Expo push infrastructure;
• Firebase Cloud Messaging on Android;
• Apple Push Notification Service on iOS.

Push tokens and notification content are processed where necessary to deliver these notifications.

Apple and Google

Apple and Google may separately process information relating to:

• app distribution;
• platform accounts;
• purchases;
• subscriptions;
• device and store operations.

Their processing is governed by their own terms and privacy policies.

8. Subscriptions

Deleting your Inner Sky account is not the same as cancelling a subscription purchased through Apple or Google.

If you have an active subscription, you must manage or cancel it through the store through which you purchased it.

As part of permanent Inner Sky account deletion, Inner Sky is designed to erase the corresponding RevenueCat customer record.

This does not itself cancel an Apple App Store or Google Play subscription.

9. Advertising and tracking

The current version of Inner Sky does not use:

• third-party advertising SDKs;
• advertising attribution SDKs;
• cross-app advertising tracking.

Inner Sky does not currently sell personal data for advertising purposes.

Optional pseudonymous product analytics (see Service providers) is used to understand app usage, not for advertising.

If these practices materially change, Inner Sky will update this Privacy Policy and the applicable app-store privacy disclosures.

10. Retention

Inner Sky keeps personal data for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, subject to applicable legal obligations.

Account, profile, and astrology data

Account information, birth data, natal-chart data, preferences, and generated analyses may remain while your account is active.

Generated readings

Character, Today, Friendship, Love, complement, and related generated content may remain stored while your account remains active unless a supported deletion mechanism removes it earlier.

A reading being associated with a specific day does not necessarily mean its database record is automatically erased the next day.

Lumen

Lumen conversations and messages may remain until:

• you delete the relevant conversation where that option is available; or
• you permanently delete your account.

Lumen Memory

A saved Lumen Memory summary may remain until:

• you remove that individual memory or clear all memories; or
• you permanently delete your account.

Analytics

Where you have opted in to product analytics, event data is retained by PostHog under its own operational retention practices. Inner Sky does not currently configure a separate fixed retention period for this data within the analytics service.

Disabling analytics consent (see Analytics information) stops further analytics events from being sent, but does not itself delete analytics events already recorded before that point.

Permanent Inner Sky account deletion does not currently include a request to erase previously recorded analytics events held by the analytics service.

Connections

Connection and consent state may remain while the relevant accounts remain active.

Disconnecting another user does not necessarily mean every historical internal connection record is immediately erased.

Permanent account deletion removes associated Connections and comparison data according to the account-deletion architecture.

Security and operational information

Limited security, abuse-prevention, rate-limiting, or operational information may be retained where reasonably necessary to protect Inner Sky or comply with applicable law.

Service providers may separately retain limited operational or security information under their own contracts, policies, and legal obligations.

11. Account deletion

You can permanently delete your Inner Sky account from within the app.

Permanent account deletion is designed to remove the account and associated Inner Sky application data, including relevant:

• profile information;
• profile photo/avatar, if one was set;
• birth information;
• natal-chart information;
• generated readings;
• Lumen conversations;
• Lumen Memory;
• Connections;
• consent records;
• shared relationship analyses involving the deleted account.

Inner Sky also requests deletion of the associated RevenueCat customer record.

After deletion, the app clears the authenticated local session.

Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.

Deleting the Inner Sky account does not automatically cancel an Apple App Store or Google Play subscription.

External deletion requests

If you no longer have access to the app, or if account deletion within the app cannot be completed, you may request deletion through the configured delete-account URL or privacy email.

Inner Sky may reasonably verify that you control the account before acting on an external deletion request.

Inner Sky will never ask you to provide your account password by email.

Information that must legally be retained may be retained only to the extent and for the period required by law.

12. Your privacy rights

Depending on applicable law, including the GDPR, you may have rights to:

• receive information about how your personal data is processed;
• access your personal data;
• correct inaccurate information;
• request deletion;
• receive certain information in a portable format;
• request restriction of certain processing;
• object to certain processing;
• withdraw consent where processing is based on consent;
• lodge a complaint with a competent data-protection authority.

To submit a privacy request, use the configured privacy email.

We may request reasonable information to verify your identity and protect your account against unauthorized requests.

If you are in Belgium, you may also lodge a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority.

13. Legal bases

Where the GDPR applies, Inner Sky may rely on one or more lawful bases depending on the processing activity.

Performance of a contract or a service requested by you

For example:

• maintaining your account;
• calculating your natal chart;
• providing requested readings;
• providing Lumen;
• providing Connections and comparison features;
• providing subscription access.

Legitimate interests

Where appropriate, for purposes such as:

• service security;
• preventing abuse;
• preventing fraud;
• rate limiting;
• service reliability.

We consider these interests against your rights and freedoms.

Consent

Where processing is genuinely optional and consent is an appropriate legal basis.

Examples may include certain optional discoverability or notification choices, and optional pseudonymous product analytics.

Legal obligations

Where processing or retention is required by applicable law.

14. International processing

Some service providers used by Inner Sky may process information outside Belgium or the European Economic Area.

Where required by applicable law, Inner Sky uses or relies on appropriate contractual, organizational, or legal safeguards for international processing.

The exact mechanism may depend on the relevant provider and processing location.

15. Security

Inner Sky uses technical and organizational measures intended to protect personal data.

Current safeguards include measures such as:

• authenticated account access;
• row-level database security;
• server-side authorization for sensitive operations;
• restricted service credentials;
• encrypted local authentication storage;
• user-scoped local notification preferences;
• server-authoritative account deletion;
• limited AI payloads;
• purpose-specific relationship comparison controls.

No technical system can guarantee absolute security.

You remain responsible for protecting your login credentials and access to your device.

16. Information about other people

Some Inner Sky functionality involves another user.

Do not submit information about another person unless you have an appropriate basis to provide it.

Relationship-comparison functionality is designed to require:

• an appropriate Inner Sky connection;
• purpose-specific authorization or consent from the relevant participants.

A Friendship comparison does not automatically authorize a Love comparison, and vice versa.

17. Sensitive information and Lumen

Inner Sky does not intentionally require GDPR special-category information for its standard astrology features.

However, Lumen accepts free-form content, and users may voluntarily enter sensitive information.

Please avoid submitting information that is unnecessary for the service, particularly:

• medical records;
• financial credentials;
• passwords;
• government identification numbers;
• highly sensitive information about third parties.

Lumen is not a substitute for qualified medical, psychological, legal, financial, or emergency services.

18. Age and children's privacy

Inner Sky is intended for people aged 16 and over.

The service is not directed to children under 16.

Inner Sky does not knowingly seek to collect personal data from children under 16.

A person under 16 should not create or use an Inner Sky account.

If a parent or guardian believes a child under 16 has provided personal data to Inner Sky, they may contact the configured privacy email.

Where applicable, Inner Sky may take appropriate steps to review and, where warranted, delete such data or the associated account.

19. Changes to this Privacy Policy

Inner Sky may update this Privacy Policy when:

• product features change;
• service providers change;
• processing practices change;
• legal requirements change.

Where required, appropriate notice will be provided for material changes.

The date at the top of this policy shows when it was last updated.
